February 26, 2017 Android Blackberry New Launch

BlackBerry Mercury has been officially launched today as the BlackBerry KEYone

KEYone BlackberryThe BlackBerry KEYone though not a flagship smartphone, it is very much pleasant to use and lays down the BB foundation for future models. The build up of the phone is focused on usability (getting work done) with fast processor and battery endurance a main factor.

It has a 4.5 inch full HD display with 3:2 aspect ratio and 434ppi. Powered by Qualcomm’s 2.0 GHz Snapdragon 625 processor, getting the phone through work is smooth and quick. It has 3GB,32GB of onboard storage with a microSD slot support. The camera has a 12 megapixel 1.55 micron f/2.0 rear camera with dual-tone LED flash that supports HDR and is capable of recording 4K video at 30fps. It also has an 8 megapixel f/2.2 1.12 micron pixels front camera with selfie flash and the ability to record 1080p/30 video. This is definitely a big improvement over BB previous cameras.

The full QWERTY keyboard doubles as a trackpad for scrolling through emails and web pages or when you need to use predictive typing. Another interesting feature - every single one of the 52 keys is programmable meaning that you can configure the letter “F” to launch Facebook with a long-press.

The handset has the biggest battery ever in a BlackBerry smartphone – 3,505mAh – and comes with Boost which is basically BlackBerry’s take on fast-charging. Together with the processor and software configuration, the phone is expected to last about 2 full days under normal use.  Additional features include Quick Charge 3.0 support, USB Type-C, FIPS 140-2 Full Disk Encryption, Android For Work, Google Play for Work and Blackberry Hub which combines emails, social media, calendar appointments, and more in one app.

The phone will go on sale in April for $549
