Samsung Exynos 8895 and Snapdragon 835 chip in Galaxy S8

Samsung's upcoming Galaxy S8 will once again use chipsets from two different makers. So depending on where you order from, you might get an S8 with Qualcomm's Snapdragon 835 or one powered by Samsung's own Exynos 8895. Up until today not much was known about the latter, other than it being on track to be used in the Galaxy S8. One rumor claimed its CPU would be clocked at 3 GHz, while another talked about the Exynos 8895 using ARM's Mali-G71 GPU design, the latest and greatest from the British semiconductor company.
Now though we get some more details about the Exynos 8895, courtesy of the image you can see below, which purportedly depicts the rough spec sheet for the SoC (and compares it to the Snapdragon 835).
From this chart, we can see that there are 2 versions of Exynos 8895, the V and M. The GPU used in the 8895M is a G71 MP20 with 20 cores, while on the 8895V it's the same G71 GPU with only 18 cores, in both cases the GPU speed is clocked at 550MHz so this shouldn't make a lot of difference. The new processors also support UFS 2.1 and 4K recording.
The leak says Qualcomm's Snapdragon 835 will once again use custom-designed Kryo cores for the SD835, with the higher-performance cluster now clocked at up to 3 GHz, while the other cores will go only to 2.4 GHz. The Adreno 540 GPU will be in too, along with support for 4K screens, Cat.16 LTE, LPDDR4 RAM, and UFS 2.1 storage just like the Exynos chip. It will be released at roughly the same time as Exynos.
Samsung may end up using these new processors on the upcoming Galaxy S8. The company usually ships the US version of its flagship with a Snapdragon processor, while most other regions get the Exynos processor. At least now, we have a better idea what Exynos processors would be used in the Galaxy S8.
