The notched design is all the rage in both Android and Apple communities these days. It all started with The Essential Phone and then Apple iPhone X followed suit and propelled this feature mainstream. Notch phones ranges from the ASUS ZenFone 5, Huawei P20 to the OPPO R15 phones. Upcoming flagships from Nokia, LG, and OnePlus are also expected to spot the notch. The OnePlus team has confirmed the notch for the OnePlus 6 and its purpose for a larger screen area. The phone will be equipped with 8GB RAM and the Snapdragon 845 chipset.
The new OnePlus 6 gives you quite some reasons for one to be excited about. Firstly, there might be an Avengers Infinity War edition. Then there are the phone capabilities and features that may offer new speed, the better display performance etc. Many consumers dislike the notch finding it distracting. Fortunately for the upcoming OnePlus 6, it will allow you to hide the 19.62 x 7.69mm notch with a special blackout feature. However, that won’t be available at launch. It's also hinted that the Alert Slider functionality will be enhanced and is now capable of controlling camera focus.
OnePlus has already confirmed some specs: a Snapdragon 845 chipset, 8GB of RAM and a 256GB storage variant. The expected price of the OnePlus 6 is $50 higher than the MSRP of the OnePlus 5T; ~$525 for a base 64GB unit.
