In this article, we look at some of the advanced phones and their camera capabilities.
Low light photography
When it comes to low light photography, most smartphones cannot produce exceptional results. In this article, we are looking at some of the smartphones that supposedly should offer a solution to this problem.
The Samsung Galaxy S7 comes with a 12MP rear camera and a wide f/1.7 aperture and a larger 1.4 micron pixels. These two work in harmony enabling the lens on the phone to effectively utilize any available light. The camera on the S7 is also dual pixel and each pixel is used for phase detection and quick autofocus to produce a good picture with the two pixels encroaching on each other.
The Huawei P9 on the other hand features a 12MP dual-camera lenses. This means that it can produce pictures that are as close to those of a DSLR camera. If you intend to capture photos in a low light situation, you will be able to choose from three color options and even adjust the camera aperture to allow more light for a better contrast and greater depth.
The Sony Xperia Z5 Premium comes with a 23MP Hybrid AF camera. It is capable of capturing as much light as possible thanks to the wide-angle G lens on the phone. The camera is offers back illumination technology and advanced Bionz image processing to capture photos that are clear in a low light situation.
Though the LG G5 has a f/1.8 aperture, it is not able to absorb enough light because it is not large enough. Compared to the Galaxy S7 that absorbs as much as 95% more light than the S6, the G5 is not that different from the G4 in this respect.
Wide-angle photography
In the past, smartphone cameras are only able to offer 100-degrees of coverage. However, the LG G5 now offers 135-degrees of coverage and is the best performer in this section. The Xperia Z5 Premium promises a better photo shooting; it offers a 24mm wide-angle lens, big enough to save you looking for panorama mode.
Still images
The Z5 Premium offers still images with a groundbreaking 8MP as well as the capability to capture videos in 4K. In other advance phones, you have to use your camera in standard mode to crisp and clear still images, however, you don’t have to be in standard mode to do the same thing with the Z5 Premium.
The next is LG G5, which is also good in takin stills in brigt light conditions. With its 135-degree axis, you can take really good images.
The smartphone that performs well in all aspect is the Galaxy S7. It has dual pixel technology, a large aperture and pixel for taking succinct and clear images in both low light and bright light situations.
Conclusion
Most smartphones only do well on paper. However, the best test of any smartphone camera is reality, it is only after testing it in real life that you can vow for its capability.
If you are looking for a phone that offers two three image-capturing modes and a dual-camera technology, the Huawei P9 is your best choice. For a smartphone with cool zooming abilities coupled with wide-angle lens, choose the LG G5. For a phone with large pixels and superior sensor, go with either Galaxy S7 or Z5 Premium.
